Manzanita – Flowers of Zion Art Workshop

3 to 5:30 pm

This week in our Flowers of Zion art workshop series we are focusing on Manzanita.

There are two types of Manzanita found in Zion National Park: Greenleaf Manzanita and Point-leaf or Mexican Manzanita.

Manzanita blooms can be found from February to June depending on the location. The flowers are small, urn-shaped, white or pale pink and arranged in clusters.

The plant is an essential part of the park’s flora and supports local wildlife. The berries produced by the plant are edible and are a food source for birds and mammals. One of the other notable features of manzanita is its smooth, reddish-brown bark, which peels away in thin sheets.

Join us! Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, this workshop for adults offers a relaxed and supportive environment to develop your skills and creativity.
