Lanell is awesome! I have taken several classes with her through the Z-arts organization. I am a beginner in all aspects of painting, drawing, etc. (my medium of choice is photography). Her classes accommodated my lack of experience beautifully. She was encouraging and helped me be happy with the 'art' I created! I look forward to more classes with her.

This past spring, I was lucky to attend Lanell's watercolor practice at the Canyon Community Center in Springdale. Even though I had no prior experience with painting or drawing, Lanell made every lesson so much fun and accessible. Her patient explanations made learning new techniques a joy and a pleasure. She gives the right of amount of feedback to actually learn from and is always encouraging, never judgmental. When I came up against frustrating challenges in my daily practice, Lanell was available to assist me one on one in her studio. Studying and learning about watercolor painting with Lanell has opened a whole new world for me and the highlight of my year. I look forward to more lessons and spending time with such a kind, knowledgeable, and gracious teacher.

We hired Lanell to lead a watercolor workshop for our yoga retreat in Zion and it was truly the highlight of our retreat! She is such an expert at what she does and did a fantastic job teaching and being encouraging to the people who were unsure about bringing out their inner artist. I would absolutely use her again!!!

What a fun way to explore one’s creative spirit. Lanelle makes it easy to have fun and create art in a supportive environment. Her upbeat spirit and knowledge allow for anyone at any level to engage in the process and succeed. What a lucky find having her as our teacher.

Lanell is such a wonderful teacher and human being. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to take a 6-week watercolor with her. I took the class just to learn a few more techniques to use on my mixed media, but on her casual and very personal way she got all of us pushing ourselves and making art happen! From day 1 I told her and the class that I do only abstracts because my drawing was limited to figure sticks. She challenged me and for my class project I was able to draw my backyard. Really beautifully? Hmmm, not necessarily. Can you recognize my backyard on the painting? Absolutely. Photos are from my backyard and my painting of it. Showing off the heart one because I love it!!!

Listen, Delicious offers an amazing opportunity to interact with Zion National Park with the eyes of an artist. Lanell’s enthusiasm in helping you connect with your creativity creates a safe and welcoming space for exploring art in a way that is accessible to all. Spending time in the park while making art allowed me to connect so much more with this magical place. I highly recommend Listen, Delicious to help you experience Zion!

Lanell was so wonderful and flexible with our larger group! She really took into consideration the varying experience levels of our group and really tried to make it a fun, informative, inclusive experience. She's also just the loveliest person ever! Would highly recommend, she's amazing!

Lanell is a gifted teacher! I can’t wait to take another class from her. One of her gifts is the ability to make you believe that you can be an artist, no matter your artistic background. She taught a workshop for a diverse group of people and each one of us had a fantastic time. I took the skills I learned and came home and bought gelli plates so that I could do the project with my family. I particularly loved seeing my parents in their late 80s, my mom on hospice, finding joy in creating and reawakening something in their spirits that had lain dormant for too long. If you are wondering if you will enjoy this? The answer is a resounding yes!
