Join us for our Watercolor Practice series. Each week we’ll study and copy renowned artists to build your watercolor skills in color, technique and composition—then use what you’ve learned to create art that reflects your own style.
This week our featured artist is: Elizabeth Nourse.
Elizabeth Nourse (1859–1938) was an American painter who spent most of her career in Paris, known for intimate, realist depictions of mothers, children, and everyday domestic life. Her work is distinguished by careful attention to detail, warm color harmonies, and a deep sense of dignity given to her subjects. She was among the first women elected to full membership in the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.

Bring your own watercolor supplies—paints of your choice, a sketchbook, brushes, and watercolor paper. Working with your own materials helps you build confidence and continue painting at home.
Don’t have supplies yet? No problem. We have a few donated watercolor palettes, brushes, and paper available for use. Let me know ahead of time if you need supplies and I’ll have them ready for you.
