Penstemon – Flowers of Zion Art Workshop

3 to 5:30 pm

This week in our Flowers of Zion art workshop series we are focusing on Penstemon.

There are multiple species of Penstemon found blooming in Zion National Park, including Palmer’s, Eaton’s, Utah, Markagunt and a newly discovered hybrid, Jones’ in 2020.

Penstemon flowers are typically tubular and they often have a two-lipped structure. The flowers of each species vary, with spectacular colors, from pale pink, to “firecracker” bright red, to deep blue, purple and violet.

We’ll talk more about the various species and you’ll have a range of choices for which Penstemon you want to paint or draw. Or perhaps a bouquet of all of them?

Join us! Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, this workshop for adults offers a relaxed and supportive environment to develop your skills and creativity.
