Gelli Plate Printmaking – September 21, 2026
September 21, 2026
3 to 5:30 pm
Join us for a three-week series exploring the playful, unpredictable world of gelli plate printmaking.
Whether you’ve never touched a gelli plate or you’ve got a stack of “throwaway” prints sitting in a drawer, these classes are designed to spark ideas and get you creating. Come to one class or all three — drop-ins are welcome.
Each session starts with looking at examples of finished gelli plate art and learning a technique. Then the rest is open studio time where you work at your own pace. Beginners get hands-on guidance, and experienced printmakers can dig into their own projects.
- Sept 21 – We’ll talk about how to build a series of finished pieces and how to make image transfers from magazines

Supplies:
We’ll provide paint, paper, and plenty of mixed media supplies including magazines, collage materials, and more.
We have 10 gelli plates available at the Community Center, so if you own a gelli plate, please bring it along as this helps make sure everyone has what they need to work.
If you’ve worked with gelli plates before, week one includes a slideshow full of ideas for turning your “throwaway” prints into mixed media art — think collage, reworking and combining prints into something new. If you’d like to develop a specific project, come to the first class and we’ll help you think it through, then you’ll have two more sessions to bring it to life. We even have a sewing machine on hand if your piece calls for stitching.
