Claret Cup – Flowers of Zion Art Workshop
June 10, 2024
3 to 5:30 pm
This week in our Flowers of Zion art workshop series we are focusing on the Claret Cup Cactus.
The Claret Cup thrives in rocky, well-drained soils and is commonly found within Zion National Park, growing in crevices and among rocks where moisture can accumulate.
The flowers of the Claret Cup Cactus are funnel-shaped and can reach up to 3 inches in diameter. They are typically bright red to crimson, which attracts pollinators such as hummingbirds and bees.
The Claret Cup Cactus’s vibrant colors and unique form make it a favorite subject for artists. Its striking appearance can be beautifully captured in various mediums.
Join us! Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, this workshop for adults offers a relaxed and supportive environment to develop your skills and creativity.
